To the Internet site of Handsome Friends Dalmatian Dogs. We are happy that you are visiting us. With this internetsite we would like to share with you the love for the Dalmatian and the love for our own dogs.

We are Leonieke and Martine Gootjes, sisters. Together with our parents and our animals we live on a hobby farm in Drenthe in the Netherlands. Already as little girls we were animal lovers. But as we lived in the city we could only keep a cat and a guinea-pig as pets. We frequently took a neighbours dog for a walk in the park and had a pony to care for.

On Leonieke's13th birthday she received a horse as birthday present! Because of this Mum was also stimulated to fulfill the dream she had since she was a  little girl and so a horse reappeared on her list of birthday wishes. Because we would be delighted to find a quiet place to live with our animals we went in search of a small farm. We eventually found something suitable and moved to our own farmhouse as soon as possible. At last it was possible to buy ourselves a dog!

We did a lot of research as to which dog we would like to have and distinctly we chose a Dalmatian . We went to Nelleke van Erp of the Dalmoor Manor kennel. From her we bought our first Dalmatian: Handsome Harley Dalmoor Manor. We call him Dazzle Design. Dazzle is a great dog with a golden temperament and also a Multi Champion. Through Dazzle our passion  for the Dalmatian has grown.  For us he  is a wonderful dog who fulfills our requirements and for this reason we would gladly continue with breeding.

We did a lot of research and decided we very much wanted to buy our bitch from Judith and Erik Barneveld of the First Forest kennel. On January 1^st 2007 First Forest Forever Friends was born. We call her Masai Mara. She is also growing up very well and also a champion.
On July 22nd our A litter was born. Out of this litter we kept a lovely bitch, Handsome Friends Adamas Koh I Noor.

Now you know the names of our dogs you can understand our choice of a name for our kennel . Handsome Friends is a combination of the names Handsome Harley and Forever Friends. Handsome Friends also explains our aim of the dogs which we want to breed. Beautiful dogs and a friend for life!

In our breeding we wish to improve the breed while preserving the good qualities of the parent animals. Our priority lies in a healthy, correctly built harmonious body with good movement and especially a fine character!
